Mainly sold in Aldi supermarkets in UK. This pitch-black porter packs a roasted, malty chocolate aroma. Notes of caramel, liquorice, raisins and some cocoa, followed by a creamy and smooth taste. In a universe full of wonders, it's the dark that matters.

Bottle at home, thanks to Paul, 16/02/20. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is cocoa powder, raisins, toffee, dried fruit rinds, light coffee notes. Taste comprises sweet malts, mellow coffee grinds, chocolate biscuit, brown sugars, mellow roast, fruit slice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Passable porter of a touch sweet.

Bottle from Aldi, Manchester. Dark clear brown with next to no head. Coffee develops in both aroma and taste once the ale has had time to breath, and it's fairly stated at this point, perhaps a little more in its nose than taste, but is certainly evident in both. Its texture is a little ordinary but ok.

10/5/2019. Bottle from Aldi, Martlesham Heath. Pours dark maroon brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, coffee liqueur, toffee, roasted malts and a little dried fruits. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, oily and watery texture, average carbonation. Sweet finish. Not bad.

Bottle from Aldi Ashford and drunk at home. Black dark brown colour beer, thin beige head. Some coffee some chocolate on the aroma and flavour. Mocha aroma and flavour. Some juiciness. Not much dryness or hops. Light dark fruit. OK, I do like a coffee beer. But this could do with a bit more coffee and a bit better base beer.

330nl bottle. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy, short-lived tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate, coffee. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth, rich, cacao, light vanilla, light coffee palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Loaded with flavour. Smooth and rich. Nothing wrong with this beer.
