We chose the Kenyan this time around to challenge ourselves, but also for its huge notes of milk chocolate, its vibrant personality, and its crazy roundness and softness. We took these beans and infused them into a very chocolate/cocoa/rich blend which consisted of two stout recipes - OWK and D5. These stouts had been resting in Weller 12-Year, Still630 Rye, and Rittenhouse Rye barrels from 15 to 20 months. We are incredibly excited to share this beer once again with you and to showcase a different bean this time around!
Released 3/2020.

750mL bottle at LC Member party, 1/17/25.
Inky, oily black. No head.
Smells like green pepper broth. That's a lot of green pepper. An hour later some of it has burned off, leaving rich dark chocolate and moderate roast.
Less given to the green pepper in flavor, though it's still there. Body held up well with a gentle kiss of syrup but has dried out nicely. Rich chocolate and roast notes, very fruity. No alcohol and only light to moderate barrel character.

Bottle. Pours black with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, dark chocolate, oak, bourbon. Thick body, roast, milk chocolate, licorice, bourbon, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.
