Ein besonderes dunkles Bier, das in einem speziellen Maischverfahren mit verschiedenen Spezialmalzen gebraut wird. Das Erfolgsrezept: das Bier wird zu einem Geschmack gebracht, nicht zu süß und nicht zu bitter, der allen Gästen von der Nordsee bis in den Süden schmeckt. Es liegt mit einem Gesamtausstoßanteil von ca. 80 % ganz klar an der Spitze.

Pours a clear deep dark brown colour and a small but dense light beige head with a bit retention. Aroma's of caramel, straw/grass, roasted malts. Retronasal follows this mostly. Flavour is light sweet, light roasted. Light bodied. Finishes with coffee notes, roasted, maybe a tad bit bitter. Nice and clean, and thirst quenching on a hot day like this.

Bottled 500ml. -from Rewe Nürnberg. Darker amber coloured, small off-white head, light grainy caramel nose. Sweetish malty, grainy, caramel and mild grassy hoppy with bitterish finish. Nothing special here.

Pours dark, caramelly brown. White, pillowy head of medium size, and medium-low stability. no real lacing. Smell is breadcrust, clearly very malt-forward. dark chocolate, bit earthy as well. Seemingly clear fermentation profile. Taste is crisp, malty ( dark bread, breadcrust, some minor toasty aspects, caramel, earthy ) very mild hopbitterness, not very flavor-forwards, but balancing the beer nevertheless. Medium body, medium to medium low carbonation. Aftertaste is very mildly bitter, has some breadcrust as well. Very easy drinkin', yet still flavorfull beer.

Copper-brown, clear body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, light beige head.
Aroma of dark honey, caramel, dark bread, moderate toast, cocoa, subtle coffee, some dark fruits.
Tastes pretty similar, really balanced.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes moderate roasty, moderate sweet, bready, toast, a bit grainy, a bit grassy, with some cocoa, slight honey.
Nice one. Balanced and smooth to drink, with just the right amount of sweetness, toastiness and some roast. The only little flaw is the lack of a bit more character, even a bit too clean, without any edge. Overall a pretty good Dunkel, while not among my favourite ones.

Bottled on November 13, 2017. As a blind tasting. I think it was purchased at Landbierparadies, online shop.As "Krug-Bräu Lager".Clear dark reddish brown color, tan head. Grainy, bread like, clean scent, a bit short on the hops. Malty, bread like, käckebröd, clean taste, again a bit short on the hops. Medium mouthfeel, medium CO2 feeling, medium bitterness.7/4/7/3/14=3.5

50cl Bottle, tfs Harmen! Clear brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of toast, grain, dark bread. Flavour is watery, grainy, hint of roast, dark malts, bitter finish. Light bodied, watery. Not a great example of the style imho.
