Innis & Gunn IPA is brewed using a new extra pale malt which is uniquely kilned to develop more pronounced malty and biscuit flavours.

The result is an easy-drinking, refreshing beer, very light in colour with bags of hop flavour, perfectly balanced by a sweet, malty finish.

Clear golden ale, thin head. Dry, hoppy aroma. Flavour follows suit, hop flavour is bitter but quite fresh, a little zesty citrus and a touch of maltiness running through it. It's fine but as a session IPA I guess it does the job.

(Draught at Babajan, Stockholm, 23 July 2020) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with toffee, caramel and a touch of citrus. Malty taste with notes of toffee, caramel, burnt sugar and a mild citric bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

Can as Christmas gift. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma malty citrus and slight floral. Taste sweet to light bitter. Medium body.

Keg at the Loaded Dog, Leicester. Orange-gold, clear with a film of white head. Low on aroma: a bit of bubblegum resin and menthol... maybe it's the Scottish connection but am I getting Irn Bru? Sweet taste, more mint with a metallic finish. Oooh. This is weird. Not completely terrible but unpleasant and deffo not an IPA.

Can. Aldi. As Innis & Gunn Session IPA. Clear gold. White froth. Lots of fine, fast rising bubbles. Nose has caramel. Metal filings. Some stewed hop. Taste is mostly sweet. Some stewed hop bitterness. Medium body. Oily. Foamy carbonation. Fairly sweet finish.
