From old tasting notes. Amber orange color. Bubbly beige head. Soft sulphury malt aroma. Uninspiring toasted malt flavor. Dryish hop finish.

Keg at BHC Florence, 25/09/16. Golden amber with a decent off White covering. Nose is sweet malts, fruit esters, toffee, light spice, booze fumes. Taste comprises caramelised sugar, dark fruit rinds, on the harsh side in general, grains, malt forward, caramel. Medium + body, fine carbonation, drying close with a boost. Mediocre affair ... drinks under the ABV but similarly lacks depth for a heavy hitter. Doesn’t carry the sweet or refined tones of a barley wine and comes over more as an English strong meets Malt liquor ! Miss !!!

Tap, Excalibur, Girona, Spain. Clear dark brown color, short off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, bit alcoholic, fruits like prune, english hops. Thick body, almost creamy. Malty and fruity taste, bit alcoholic, quite bitter. Typical english style. Quite nice.
