A rich, full-bodied, amber ale. Saaz and Goldings hops give it a floral, fruity and spicy character, whilst the use of both crystal and chocolate malt imparts nutty, toffee and liquorice flavours.

Cask handpull at Phoenix, Canterbury. Ruby beer with bubbly thin beige head. Some yeast but also dark red fruit. Winter beers are a bit sweeter I think this year. Touch of vanilla. Smooth sweet fruit finish has yeast and some puckering of the mouth. Quite pleasant with yeast/sour sweet fruit.

From tap at Jan Primus. Nice clear copper color, short off-white head. Aroma of golding hops and sweet caramel malts, some fruity notes. Taste is caramel malty with a very pleasant bitterness, quite fruity also. Lingering palate.
