Bottle. Deep dark brown color, malt, dried fruit and only a hint of peat in the aroma, malty sweet, toffee, oak, vanilla, dried fruit. Hint of peat in the alcoholic flavor. Hardly a trace of whisky. Unpolished and fairly simple.

Flesje gedeeld door Tomhendriksen. Robijnrood iets troebel bier. Aroma en smaak is houtig en whisky achtig, kruidig en fruitig. Nasmaak is iets bitter.

Bottle, BB 05-2027 (from het biermoment). Pours dark murky brown with beige head. Aroma is sweet, malt, smoke, whisky. Flavor is sweet and bitter, smoke, malt, sugar, vanilla, fruits. Finish is oaky and malty with sugar and peated whisky. Body is on the thinner side. Overall: very good.

Bottle. Color: Very dark ruby, thin beige head. Taste: Dark roasted malt, notes of peat and smoke, hints of the whisky BA. Medium sweet, boozy. Medium body, average carbonation, pretty short finish. Would be better if it had more body.

Bottle @ home. The base beer doesn't carry the Bowmore very well. It's quite peaty but a little bit watery at the same time too. It's not bad or horrible, but it certainly isn't the best barrel aged quad out there.

--- Beer merged from original tick of 150 Watt Bowmore BA on 25 May 2018 at 13:50 - Score: 5

Bottle @ home. Opaque brown color, average sized off-white to beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, light peat, bowmore whisky, some more peat. Taste malts, a bit earthy, bowmore whisky, peat, some sweetish alcohol one would expect. Medium body, decent to medium carbonation.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 5-2027, 33 cl sample. Almost clear ruby color, short frothy head. Aroma of peaty smoke, bit raisin and some fruity mashed apples. In taste I was especting lots of barrel, but surprisingly its mostly base beer, albeit with quite some mashed apple sweetness. Bit dry and smokey in the finish. Still a bit rough at the edges, but enjoyable. --- Beer merged from original tick of 150 Watt Bowmore BA on 28 Jul 2017 at 23:24 - Score: 7. Original review text: Rokerige bowmore samen met rozijnen en appelmoes. Droog, rokerig. Ruwe randjes, maar meer basisbier over dan ik had verwacht.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of raisin, medicinal smoke, chocolate, berries and whisky. Flavor has smoke, peat, iodine, chocolate, some salt, roasted malt, some red fruit and a nice peated whisky dominated finish. Body is somewhat thin, which makes the beer more whisky-like. Very nice, this brewery is getting really good.
