Keg at BD Flagship. This version is 9.8%. It pours jet black with a sexy thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, sweet, gooey chocolate cake, coffee grounds, mocha, dark fruits, plum, rocky road and toffee crisp. The taste is slick, bitter - sweet, chocolate torte, boozy alcohol warmth, coffee, mocha, chocolate syrup, burnt toast, chocolate ice cream, touch of charcoal and peppery spice with a warming finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and oily mouth - feel. Rich, flavourful and indulgent. A rather pleasant impy stout.

Keg at BD Sheps Boost, 26/07/18. Pitch black with a lasting dirty tan head ... a good looker! Nose is mellow roast, toffee, lighy charr, cocoa rub, light smoke, brown bread. Taste comprises bitter sweet roast, light coffee, toffee, chocolate biscuit, dried fruits, brown sugar melt, light booze, hint of liquorice. Full bodied, smooth feel, balanced warming boost offered. Decent easy drinking impy.

Bottle shared on the RBSG bus. Dark brown color with a small tan head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, and espresso. Taste is mostly roast, a little chocolate sweetness, and a mild bitter end. Roasty and dark chocolate.

tap at the brewpub last fall - Pours black with a tan head. The aroma is of chocolate accented roast malt with a touch of licorice. The sweet roasted chocolate malt overpowers the 72 IBUs in the flavor, but that big pile of hops provides the needed balance. It’s full bodied and the alcohol is well buried. The flavor is strong but not super intense. It works well. 400th Indiana beer rating. Huzzah!
