Bottled. A golden beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of beech wood smoke, combined with a bit of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of beech wood malt, straw, and malt, leading to a dry smokey finish. The body is light.

Thanks to bierkoning for that one. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass not as dark as exspected, huge head. Malty-smoky aroma. Starts mild but not washy. More and more spicy, dry, reminds me of christmas spices. Finish again drier, modest bitter. Interesting beer!

33cl bottle, few months old according to label. Poured amber with loads and loads of foam. Aroma is mostly smoke, ham and birch. Flavor similar, birch, smokey malt covering allmost every other flavor there is. Very bitter finish, nice grapefruity finish. Thin, and the smoke is too overwhelming.

(Draught at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Pale copper colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, smoky nose with notes of orange, apricots and a mild smokiness with hints of ham and bacon. Fruity, slightly smoky taste with citrus, grapefruit, dried apricots and smoke in the background. Generous bitterness in a dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. The bitterness gets more prominent than the smoke after a while. Nice one.

0.33l bottle @ Olympen, Oslo. Well, I have seen quite a few massive foamy heads on beers before, but I think this one takes the win. Massive massive everlasting fluffy white head on top of a developing cloudy pale orangish body. The aroma fleeing from the massive head has nice smoky and ashy tones and not much more than just that. It has a lively to aggressive carbonation level and a thin and weak mouthfeel. Flavors are also mildly smoky and earthy. Ends mildly bitter with a smoky-lagerish aftertaste. Yeah it's a smoky lager alright!
