golden coloured strong bitter traditionally brewed using only the finest quality of Stonehenge Spring Water, barley and wheat malts, whole hops and the brewery’s own top-fermenting yeast. Good hop and fruit aromas and complex flavours developing into a beautifully balanced full-bodied aftertaste with hops and fruit to the fore. Simply a Top Class Beer which has won several major beer festivals.

Cask at the moon under water Watford JDW. Golden straw coloured pour with a tidy white head. Aroma is earthy straw, touch of citrus, some staling. Flavour is harsh bitterness, rustic, grain tanin and light orange. Moderate carbonation, bitty mouth feel. Harsh bitterness lingers.

Cask at the Bell Inn, Bath. It pours clear golden amber with a small white head. The nose is grainy, hay, toast and light tangerine. The taste is grainy, toasty, grass, pepper, hint of citrus and wood with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Nothing wrong with it in particular, just rather boring. So-so.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours perfectly clear, yellow-gold with a wimpy, white cream head. Very light toasty grain aroma. Light to medium sweet flavor, dry grains, mild toasty grass, leaves, dry orange rind. Light to medium in body with fine, soft carbonation. Faint toasty grain malt finish with a bit of toasty grass and leaf bitterness, very faint nuts, some vague, aged citrus fruits. Not terrible, but wholly uninspiring.

Looks like a poorly formed golden ale, but has a very nice hopped taste to it.

Draft. Clear gold beer. Some sulphur on the nose. Small white bubbly head. Semi dry palate. Rich lagerish malt but also carries some sulphur from the nose. Sweet yellow fruits towards the end. Okay but a bit messy.

Cask at the Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury. light aroma. Hint of caramel. Very easy going ale that could easily be consumed in vast quantities! A collie in the bar was given quite a taste by his owner and it's fair to say he enjoyed what he drank! So it's 10/10 from the canine world too :-) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy straw. The aroma is a bit buttery and a bit floral. Tastes of butter, maybe some caramel. Second attempt at this one, and it’s equally dreary as the first time around.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Funny how you think you have rated a beer because you had it before joining Ratebeer. Some white stone fruit with some biscuit. Not huge hop but some bitterness on end, some sweetness form the strength. OK. Some fruit salad.
