Bottle from Connollys Wines, Solihull. Poured a dark mahogany colour with a broken tan head. The aroma is malt and peat. The flavour is medium bitter with earthy peaty smoky notes and some liquourice bitter sharpness. A very good stout, but lacks a little flavour IMO.

500ml bottle, many thanks to Finn. Bubbly, fawn-coloured head to a deep, dark brown coloured body. A few spots to the glassware. Inviting aroma of confectionery malts added by a nice roastiness. Dark chocolate flavour, rather creamy, supported by liquorice and herbal hops. Mid-dry, chocolate bitterness to the ending. Easy to drink, but not diluted in anyway. Well made stout (Tromsø, 17.10.2012).

(Keg@Rake Bar’s Bristol Beer Festival) Pours dark brown with a tan head. Malty, licorice and hints of coffee/chocolate, very nice mouthfeel. Good overall.

Flaske 0,5l fra Kilpishalli. Drukket i Skibotn 7 Aug 12. Dyp rubinrød med et lysebrunt, høyt luftig skum som varer en stund. God kaffe/sjokoladearoma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er syrlig frukt. Helhetsinntrykket er forsiktig røstet malt.

Bottle at home in London, shared with Marcy. Pours rich brown with a foamy, light tan head. Nose holds a good bit of lactic, dark malts, some cocoa, mild roast. Light sweet flavor with faint roast, dusty cocoa, light tobacco, ash and a little bit of dirt. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly dry on the finish with plenty of dry tobacco, more ash, some burnt leaves, light earth. It’s a low octane stout, that’s for sure.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost opaque dark brown with a vague orange hue and a small off-white head. Quite some butter in the nose combined with heavy roast. Light body, heavy roast, again some butter with a bitter, roasty finish. Quite enjoyable if not for the roast. 030312

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an orangey brown with a rough off-white head. Hard roasted malt and a little vanilla. Light body, hard roasted malt and died fruit. Solid malt bitterness. 150610

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with a foamy head. Chocolate, coffee and roasted malt in the aroma. Roasted, smooth and slightly fruity taste with notes of plain chocolate and coffee standing out. Not bad.

500ml Bottle - Black in colour with a tan head. Malty aroma with some roasted and lightly hoppy hints. Roasted taste with malt, chocolate and some delicate hoppy hints.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Viking Line Gabriella, 20111114) The beer poured almost black and it was clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate and ash. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, burnt malts, grass, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste was dry and had roasted malts and bitterness. Nice and tasty stout despite the low ABV - a bit thin.
