Bottle. Pours hazy very dark brown with airy but stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and coffee, with notes of caramel and roast. Bitter, roasty flavor, with notes of coffee and malt, and touches of caramel and hints of hops. Lingering, bitter and roasty aftertaste. A well-balanced and really nice Stout.

Classic dry stout with a long historical heritage; thick, light beige, sticky, stable head, black colour with a wine-red hue only visible under bright light, clear. Strong aroma of coffee and bitter chocolate, leafy hops, iron, walnuts, peat, leather. Dry taste with subtle presence of dark fruits, smooth, bit oily mouthfeel, bit sourish carbonation, caramel malts in the middle, supple, mild but nevertheless clearly roasted bitterness in the finish (black coffee) which also shows some peppery hops.

500ml bottle kindly shared by Finn. Creamy. Light brown coloured head. Deep ruby coloured body. Dotted spots to the glassware. Dark malt drive nose. Flavoured with chocolate, coffee, and earthy malts. Roasted ending. Medium bodied. Fair enough (session at Finns, Tromsø 05.08.2014).

Bottle given to me at Christmas. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, malty. Prefer it on cask but this is still decent.

Bottle. A semi-clear, reddish dark brown beer topped by a big, light beige head. The aroma is roasted and slightly burnt, almost bonfire-ish, with hints of cooked vegetables in the far back. The flavor too is mostly on the dark malty side, not as bonfire-ish as the aroma, but still roasted and burnt. Some roasted malt bitterness chimes in, lasting for a good while. Full body and a nice carbonation level. A quite decent one, but I’m more into the American approach to stouts, with less bonfire and charcoal. 130508
