Cask at the Kings Head Leicester. Dark brown and slighrly translucent with a thick tan head. Chocolate, charcoal and slight herbal aroma. Taste is bittersweet with more weighty bitterness in the finish, and some Marmite and soy in the aftertaste. Pretty nice.

Bottle . Appearance - opaque black with an attractive fawn head. Nose - black jack, liquorice, molasses, you get the idea. Taste - dark chocolate, then dried fruits, the next phase is savoury perhaps meat and leather. Then when you think it’s all over it finishes with a charcoal or tar note. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long balanced dry finish. Overall - complex and delicious. They’ve nailed it.
