01/22/18, surprisingly tasty blonde vanilla flavor + coffee + chocolate. Sweet and malty but not offensive or overly anything. Maybe cause I'm a fat orange cat fan boy, full disclosure.

Can from Jeff Bezos Whole Foods, pours slightly hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is slight chocolate and vanilla... indeed, it is similar to other white stouts I have had in this respect. Taste is sweet, spiced, crappy chocolate. Mediocre. Why does this style exist, and why hath my wif purchased it for me, because lord knows she is not drinking it (#hazebrowifeproblems).

Pour is a amber with a large white head. Aroma is marshmallow vanilla sweetness. Flavor is again more vanilla sweetness although not as sweet as I thought it was going to be. Finish is actually a bit bitter with some dark sweet malt that reminds me of a oreo cookie. Decent flavor but sweetness predominates.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/20/2018. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky cream colored head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty medium roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of smoke, char, herbal, floral, grassy, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bready malts, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty medium roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of smoke, char, herbal, floral, grassy, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, floral, grassy, peppery hop; and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty medium roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, toasted biscuit, light smoke/char, herbal, floral, grassy, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bready malts, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Mild warming alcohol for 7.2%. Overall this is an awesome white stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bready malts, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very rich oats/malts, cocoa, coffee, and vanilla flavors; with nice earthy hop balance against sweetness. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. One of the better ones I've had.

Can, from City Hops. Pours hazy dark orange with foamy off-white head, vanilla and faint coffee aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter coffee beans taste with vanilla flavor, smooth body,.long finish. Interesting brew, coffee dominated but it could also be called a Strong Ale, instead of Stout.

16 ounce can. Amber orange color. Small frothy beige head. Sweet toasted malt nose hints at vanilla and coffee. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor. Notes of coffee, brown sugar and cocoa. Doesn't look like a stout, doesn't smell like a stout and doesn't taste like a stout. Is it really a stout?

Curious gimmick, completely pointless, really, brewing a light-colored beer and then adding enough adjuncts it tastes in the vicinity of a chocolate milk stout. Sweet, with a noticeable choco-vanilla backbone that makes you wonder how “natural” the natural flavors listed on the can actually are. Hints of marshmallow and caramel add to the sweetness, ultimately growing cloy and hollow as the pint warms. But, hey, it’s an amber stout, so...hooray? Pass.
