Unexpectedly drinkable. At ABC we strive towards creating balance in our products. We aim to brew beers that explore a range of taste profiles, yet remain approachable and highly drinkable — something you can both geek out over and also enjoy in casual conversation. Our Blueberry Milkshake IPA is a good example of this ethos. Does it remind you of a milkshake with notes of vanilla and cream — yes; Does it have a modern hop-profile of coconut, berry, and tropical fruits — yes; Does the addition of BC blueberries give it a refreshing, tart character — yes. Does all this work together — you betcha.

Hazy purple with a decent white head. Blueberries and some cream with fresh hops. Blueberries, hops and a bitter finish. Not really sweet enough or creamy enough.

On tap at Another Beer Co, pours an opaque dark purple with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle blueberry skins upfront, a little lactose, and subdued hops. Flavour is quite fruity, with lots of blueberry upfront, a hint of lactose, very subdued hops. Nice blend of disparate elements that comes together alright. Solid.

Can from Broadway LRS, Vancouver; 6.5%ABV, canned 21Jan2020; Belma hops
Cloudy blond to golden, with comnpact head. Some strawberry aroma, sweet and fruity, some yeast too, bit of armpit. Smooth mouthfeel, moderately sweet, it has that bit of fruit, but it clashes with the bitterness.
Overall, unnecessary concept, but drinkable.

Can. Slight haze. On the palate, there's a fair bit of hop bitterness, and a touch of strawberry. So it's a bit clashy but not bad - just hop bitterness and strawberries aren't best friends and that might be why it's really difficult to put strawberries in a beer and have it work. So not my type of beer anyway, and the elements don't make me think otherwise for this one.

Nice foam on a mostly clear gold body, soft fresh juice on the nose with sweet hop notes. Flavour is sweet juicy hop notes that resemble a milkshake or an orange julius stand maybe. Full on the mouth. A little subtle but okay.
