Tap at Constanzer Wirthaus, where the Rhine begins again in Konstanz. Mildly hazed copper-amber with a small head. Has a clear strength to proceedings but there's also a lot of tasty sugars to be found within, giving the brew a fairly pleasant malty-sweetness.

Dunkler, karamellig alkoholischer Beginn. Herber trockener Hintergrund, weich würzig. Mittellanger Abgang, insgesamt etwas plump wirkend. 9/8/8/8//8

(bottle, thanks to Quack-Duck!) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a firm and medium-sized off-white foamy head. Slightly caramelly malty aroma with hints of biscuits and toffee. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Hearty malt character with notes of caramel, biscuits and a vaguely herbal hoppy touch in the background; sweet malty and slightly bitter hoppy finish with present notes of caramel. Not too deep but likeable half-dark Bock. 24.I.16
