Roast and coffee. Black pour with decent head. Bitter, crisp finish. Some oatmeal. Tap at brewery.

Dark brown. Thin head. Quite toasty, with middling bitterness and some thin toasty notes. I would prefer more residual sugar and body, especially in an oatmeal stout, and maybe some more malt complexity. It's a basic stout that any brewer can make - by winter can this be more distinctive?

The aroma is vague milky barley, has okay beige foam on medium brownish copper liquid. Flavour is muddy sweet coffee and the mouthfeel is full enough with decent sweetness. Straight ahead but delivers what's advertised.

On tap at Shore Line, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out medium toasted malt, with a touch of graininess. Flavour is lightly roasty, with moderately toasted malt, a bit of a bitter earthy character, and crisp crusty bread. Clean and decently constructed. It's alright.
