Smells of bright chewy caramel, malts, soft oatmeal, some sweet biscuit. Has a nice deep copper body and good beige foam. Flavour is heavy and strong, a bit syrupy, nice malt and molasses, simple but effective. Mouthfeel is okay and the alcohol isn't present but it remains very sugary and syrupy. It's not a bad barleywine, but could be more refined.

Draught @ Stanley Park. Dark amber, slight haze. Thick head, lots of toasty malts, crackers, some dark sugars and abundant fruitiness of English yeast - probably Fullers). Full body. Rich, with nice fruity depths. Dark sugars. A bit bitter in the finish. Has the character of an English barley wine, but American strength.
