[ARA]: The Altar A wine-inspired farmhouse ale, Ara was brewed with barley malt, oats, and raw wheat. We fermented Ara on less in freshly-emptied Pinot Gris barrels from our friends at Averill Creek Vineyard. After a primary fermentation, Ara was aged with a variety of mixed cultures for 6 months. Ara was then conditioned for 3 weeks on pinot gris pomace. Ara is bone dry with lively acidity, with notes of white pepper and tropical funk.

Poured from the tap. Hazy gold with no head. Funk, farmhouse, touch of wood. Pretty good.

750ml from The Gull LRS shared with George @ home. Appearance: hazy golden with no head. Aroma: nice funk, farmhouse, barrel. Taste: along the same lines, super carbonated, quite a few of residual sugars left, lots of fruity notes. Overall: good one.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Nose is full of funky wild yeast, some rustic notes, some vinous character and grape skins. Flavour is very complex, with lots of wild yeast, rustic notes, grape skins, wine, and a little oak. Wonderful yeast character that really elevates this. Excellent.

The aroma is big brett yeast and strong grape must, has muddy orange body with soft foam. Flavour is good brett and strong grape must with light grain hints. Mouthfeel is full and crisp. Very nice, tasty, well made.
