Dark like 4:30PM on a December afternoon, this strong German lager brings together a variety of roasted and caramelized malt flavours to convey smooth dark chocolate, toasty cocoa, and sweet dried plums.

Dark brown, with a thin head. This has a nice sticky brown sugar note. Good balance, full body. I like this - as domestic doppelbocks go, this isn't half bad.

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 3 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5.5
Too faint dark lager aroma, has good dark brown body and modest foam. Flavour is a sort of muddy dark caramel, everyhing is undistinguished. Mouthfeel is full enough and the alcohol is well hidden at least. This is not memorable, nothing stands out.
