On cask at Smugglers' Trail, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is gently fruity, with the currants showcasing subtly but upfront, with a touch of roast. Flavour is tart, with lots of currant. I usually don't like this type of fruit addition to stouts and this is no exception. It's not bad; I just don't think the combo works well.

Cask at the 8 x 8 Langley cask festival. The aroma is very soft and weak barley, has okay foam on a blackish brown body. Flavour is soft barley and a bit of black currant melding softly with it. Mouthfeel is reasonably smooth. Not bad but still a bit disjointed, black currant could be pushed ever so slightly further up but then again I wouldn't want some cloying sugar bomb either.
