The Gladstone Festbier is a brilliantly clear gold fading to straw with mild head retention. Floral and herbal hop notes play nice with bready malt notes that are slightly sweet and carry through on the first sip; further supported by complimentary spicy hops and a gentle rounding by a mild corn backdrop. Mouthfeel is slightly prickly and quite refreshing, with a mild lingering bitterness that says “one more?”

On tap at The Magnet, pours a clear blonde with a medium white head. Aroma has a nice spicy herbaceous character, bready notes, and fresh straw—great aromatics. Flavour is dry and malty, with dry bready malt, lots of straw, some bitter herbaceous notes, and finishes dry and herbaceous. Really nicely done festbier.

Smells of soft lagery malts but without the hop sweetness, has okay foggyish gold and modest foam. Flavour is weak malts, lagery, sweet hops, sugar. Mouthfeel is watery and sweet. It's so very boring, why bother making this?

@ BC Beer Awards. Golden colour, medium head. Bright. The nose is mostly sweet doughy pale malt bit there's also a nice little biscuit nose. On the palate the body is full and biscuity. Liking this.
