Original Gravity Haze is our take on the style that’s taken the craft beer scene by storm! OG holds a balance of tropical fruit aromas, juicy hop character and a soft malt body that elevates this hazy IPA into the carefully crafted realm of distinction from Driftwood Brewery. This NEIPA is unique in that we’ve chosen to brew with a clean yeast strain and allow the addition of oats and apple pectin to create viscosity and the light hazy appearance.

Original Gravity is the density and haze delivered in our quest for viscosity while the hops are the fruit that perfumes this concoction and drifts us away on a cloud.

Poured from the tap. Clear blonde gold with small white head. Light biscuit malt, lemony citrus and mild floral hops. Average.

Good yellow body with modest foam, Nice heavy sweet hops on the nose that I can actually smell. Flavour is sharp yet sweet hops, well balanced. Good oiliness and carbonation on the mouth. A very nice straight ahead IPA, well done and a pleasure to drink.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold-yellow with plenty of sediment and a small, foamy, long lasting, white head that laces nicely. Sweet fruity aroma of grainy wheat, green apple, pineapple, papaya and grapefruit. Sweet fruity flavour of biscuit malt, oats, green apple, grapefruit, pineapple, lemon and pine in a crisp, dry, bitter grass finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. More of a Hazy West Coast IPA than a NEIPA, but pretty good whatever you want to call it.

473mL can, pours a fairly clear golden with tons of sediment and a small white head. Nose brings out piney hops, with bright citrus, and a crisp biscuity malt backbone. Flavour is along the same lines, with bright piney hops, light citrus and a crisp biscuity malt base. Doesn't really strike me as a hazy -- it's much too clear and crisp, without any real yeastiness. Clean and very drinkable, but not overly enthralling.

Hazy, pale. Thick head. Really nice, bright papaya, mango, pineapple notes. Bright hops again on the palate, with brisk bitterness, lovely complex fruity hops with a hint of grapefruit. Good clean pale malts. This is nice stuff.

Can at The Gull, North Vancouver
Cloudy blond colour. Strange smell, some vegetable notes, a bit floral, some hops. Dry mouthfeel; very weird hop notes, vegetable, green vegetables, chicory bitterness. It gets worse at each sip.
Not good.
