Dark & Stormy is modelled on the classic cocktail and was brewed with a base of Crisp Floor Malted Maris Otter, with molasses, and the addition of ginger, lime, rum and bitters, then aged in a cognac Foeder for five months (confusingly).

Draught at the brewery
Hazy amber colour. Mild caramel and herbs aroma. Quite thin, with a very weird flavour, perfume, herbs (sage), soap, cola; very light sweetness, high alcohol perception.
What is this supposed to be? Not bad, just pure mess.

The smell is all ginger and nothing else, has a muddy brown body with little foam. Flavour is ginger and lime that comes across as vapo-rub, yes, that stuff you rub on your chest when you're sick. Mouthfeel is crisp. This is an odd mix that does nothing for anyone.

On tap at Strathcona, pours a hazy chestnut brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is quite unusual, with lots of spices showing themselves - juniper berries upfront, followed by ginger and lime. Flavour is a mess, with lots of ginger, rum, juniper and celery. Very vegetal and chaotic. This is just not pleasant.
