A tribute to the writings of James Joyce, our Irish Stout is a complex, deeper than deep, labyrinthine beer of rich flavours to be savoured. Like reading Ulysses, be prepared to travel in the dark.

473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, short lived, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, earth and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, earth, oats and leafy green hops in a dry, mild bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a thick, creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty and enjoyable.

Has a nice aroma of roasted barley, good black body on it with minimal foam. Flavour is roasted barley with a bit of sweet dark coffee mixed in. Mouthfeel is crisp, some dryness, but overpowered by sugar. Not bad, very sweet, should be drier.

Bomber from Legacy. Dark brown with a thick head. The aroma is sort of fudgey/chocolatey, touch of nuttiness. Light body. Sweet chocolate again a bit nutty and with low bitterness. Definitely more of a sweet stout than an Irish one.

This is NOT a dry stout, Tasty, but far too sweet for that style. Not really a sweet either, but somewhere in between
