Obelisk is a 12.1% Belgian Strong ale. The recipe for this was the product of long email chains between us and Stefan and Kacper of Haand and we eventually landed on this Barley Wine/Belgian Strong hybrid. We decided to go with the latter for its style description as the yeast, as you'll seen taste, has absolutely made this beer it's own monster.

Fra fat på Nedre Foss Gård. Dyp rødbrun. Middels høyt skum med litt farge. Lett sherryaroma. Veldig luftig munnfølelse. Smaken vinøs. Sterk portvinspreg. Tørket aprikos i ettersmaken. Alkoholen skinner igjennom.

Surprisingly lighter side of dark brown on the body with big foamy head that sticks around for awhile. Nice fruity malts on the nose, bread, graham cracker, brown sugar. The flavour is very big and alcoholic, boozy, sharp molasses and caramel and a big shock to the system as Billy Idol would say. Sugary finish. Definitely a strong ale that will knock your socks off but I rather like it. In small doses.
