Malt Madness has been brewed at 7.4% abv for sweetness, strength and taste to take on the hint of Teachers Whisky from the oak whisky casks that it has spent six weeks conditioning in. The casks originated from the Jim Beam distillery in Kentucky USA and subsequently shipped to Ardmore Distillery in Scotland for use in maturing the Teachers brand.

Clear 330ml bottle: BBE Jun 17. Poured into a Gordon’s Thistle glass one day past it’s BBD. Clean amber body, wispy white topping. Slight traces of smouldering maltiness in the nose and taste, mild whisky flavour. It lacked depth for the alcohol level and just seemed a bit ’flat’ condition wise. I like this breweries beers normally, so was expecting something a little bit more exciting than I got.

Aroma of gunpowder and cereal. Has decent white head and a clear orange body. Flavour is ashtray and orange peels. Weak and watery on the mouth so abv is surprisingly hidden. Aside from that this one just isn’t interesting.
