Cannery Brewing, R&B Brewing, Townsite Brewing and Old Yale Brewing worked together with CBC Radio 3 and four awesome Canadian bands to launch Canadian Band Beer. We created Pink Mountainhops Maibock after Vancouver rock ‘n’ roll band
Pink Mountaintops.

This strong, dry-hopped maibock is a full-bodied German-style lager. Created with classic German malts and noble hops, it is a malt forward beer, with a surprising hop complexity.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with light head. Light aromas if honey and malt. Flavors of tangerine, light resin, malts and metal. Not very impressive.

More in the Band Beer series that’s apparently just been released. Never heard of this band but hey, so far the series’ beers have been darned tasty. Pours with a very solid white head and has a nice crystal golden body with good carbonation floating up into the head. Refreshing aroma of orange, dandelion, with slight hazelnut notes. Flavour is a rather eclectic mix of malt and cloying wheat with a perfumy end. Medium finish. Probably good for the style but I was hoping for a little more complexity; however it’s quite drinkable nonetheless.
