Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a reddish hue. The aroma is roasty malt, red berry fruits. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, with a roasty, malt, tart red berry fruit, light chocolate palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Ok, but too light for a mild and too far away from the traditional style.

Cask-conditioned at the Maltings, York February 2020. Deep brown colour with some ruby undertones. Aroma was subdued, with a touch of toffee and dark fruit. The flavour was more assertive with dark chocolate and fruit, and a some toastiness in the finish. Good.

Pours a clear dark brown colour with a small bubbly off white head that settled. Great aroma, roasted malts, chocolate and a hint of liquorice. Not a lot of sweetness but some, roasted malt flavours, a little chocolate and a nice dry finish.

Nicely to style, creamy, good body, a bit oxidized, but the flavors there are great. GBBF Winter

24th July 2018, cask half-pint at The Crown Inn, Oakengates Shropshire. Dark brown body, tanned affair on top. Malty molasses rule both the nose and taste in this fairly sweet Mild, the hops playing second fiddle to the malts throughout. Light chocolate notes within the malty flavour.
