Bottle in Ashford from Sarah's mum. A clear amber orange coloured pour with a loose beige head that fades. Aroma is semi sweet, caramel, toffee, some rustic brown bread. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, layered malts, some toffee sweetness, rustic brown bread. Very simple and plain. Palate is semi sweet, light chalk, moderate carbonation. Passable.

Bought for me by somebody who knows nothing about beer. Brewed by Marstons (Carlsberg Marstons), presumably one of their stock range brewed with even cheaper ingredients for Aldi. A non-event

Bottle from Aldi Supermarket, Borehamwood. Deeper amber coloured with a small head. Hoppy ale without a great deal of flavour, just some mild caramels, with these a little more stated in its nose but quite sweet in their aroma too.

Bottle from Aldi. Deep amber in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. A very sweet beer, with plenty of caramel, toffee, ripe malts and a moderately bitter finish. Diabetes in a bottle.
