A golden beer whose aroma is dominated by hops that give characteristic citrus notes. Hops and fruit on the palate are balanced by malt and a bitter base. Dry hoppy finish with soft fruit flavors. A nationally respected ale, winner of numerous awards, JHB is a blond baby packed with flavour & perfect for those long sessions as well as a quick pint at lunchtime.

Bottle from my local off-licence ‘Wine Rack’. Pours a clear light golden colour with a thin white creamy head. Aromas of citrus, floral, honey, bread and spice. Taste has the same notes from the aroma with a touch of added biscuit and just the right amount of earthy bitterness on the finish. Medium body and smooth mouthfeel. Enjoying this beer very nice. Re-tasting 27/07/2023: The same fresh tasting notes from the last rating and if anything better than i last remembered. Upped my rating from 3.8 to 3.9. Very good beer.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton Pours a vivid lemon yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Nose is mainly citrus with hints of corn and biscuit. Taste is of floral hops with plenty of citrus and orange. Rounded off with a bitter finish. Too lemony for my taste – but at least it’s not as bad as Citra !

Adding in my 300 Beers To Try ticks because I want to see how they impact my stats and some of them I will never see again. Will however re-rate them when practical. Distinctly unimpressed with this one, it just failed to hit the mark.

Tap at the Stansted airport Wetherspoons. Fruity, hoppy, surprising. Light and refreshing. First beer in a few days. After a little it gets a little yeasty and has more real ale character but a pleasant surprise.

It's nothing desperately exciting but Oakham know their way around a pale, hoppy citrus thing and this is no exception. Light, crisp, some lemony citrus and a nice, dry zesty finish. Plenty quaffable.
