TROOPER Red ‘N’ Black porter is the third beer in the TROOPER range following on from the stunning success of TROOPER and last year’s limited edition TROOPER 666.
The beer, designed once again by IRON MAIDEN vocalist and ale aficionado Bruce Dickinson along with Robinsons’ Head Brewer Martyn Weeks, takes its inspiration from a very early Robinsons recipe which was first brewed in the 1850’s; a time when porter style beer was becoming increasingly popular in Britain.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - dark brown to black with red chinks. Decent head. Nose - marzipan and chocolate biscuits. Taste - cherries and more marzipan. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - not a porter but not bad at all.

Cask at the Haymarket. Pours clear dark red brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of red fruit and malt. Taste is very fruity. Soreen. Wouldn’t have put this down as a porter with my eyes closed. Fruity finish too.

Cask at bank bar dundee... Dark red black.. Thin tan lacing... Soft sweet ovaltine Roast malts nose.. Dark fruit Roast.. Very fruity... But ive got to wonder if all the regional do some things to the water. Or use same yeast.. As got common flavour that doesn’t work for me
