Bottle, 22oz. It’s an almost clear beer, crystal deep golden with a steady carbonation leaving a beige head that only slowly diminishes. Cute little curtains occur as drinking. Honey-sweetish nose with quite evident alcohol, but not in a too dominant way. Oak and dried peaches comes strongly after the first sniff. Vanilla notes. It’s full-bodied and warming, well carbonated and pleasantly bittered. The hops ain’t running the show in any way, they are just there to give balance and combat the sweetness and alcohol. The flavor is heavy yet balanced, maybe a tad much on the sweet side. Overall, definately not a session beer, I enjoyed it for over an hour and felt really satisfied afterwards. 100325

Hazy orange-amber color. Deep cask aroma, malt, sweet caramel, dusty nuts, a bit fruity too. Strong body structure, powerful malt flavor, sweet; it has a good bitterness level, light alcohol warmth, pleasant sweet nuts, some vanilla. Not original, but pretty good.

Bottle: Poured a golden honey color ale with small foamy head with minimal retention and not much lacing. Aroma of sweet rich malt with some bitter grassy hoppy notes also discernible. Taste is more or less interesting with some overly sweet malt notes and a clashing bitter hoppy finish. Body is full with medium to low carbonation and no alcohol perceptible per say. Overly sweet mess with clashing hops and no real presence of oak is a real disappointment.

Bottle at Chriso pre GBBF tasting 09. Gold/amber with lasting beige head. Sweet Belgian influenced beer with some herb. Not great to be honest, some tea flavour.
