Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Stas. Black with a tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, soy sauce, cherries, caramel. Sweetish flavor with caramel, chocolate, roast, a bit of dark fruits, sourish hint, and a bitterish finish. Medium to full-bodied.

Aroma is complex but not so balanced. There are hops which mixed with spices make an impression of slight sourness, there is also an alcohol which makes it not so great. The taste is rather thin with great amount of bitterness but more from burnt malts and alcohol than hops. These excessively burnt malts make the impression of slight sourness generated by aroma stronger. Unfortunately notes of dark malts like cocoa are rather hidden. I was hoping for thick, cocoa-like, sweet imperial porter with aroma of vanilla, it was a disappointment.

Bottle from Birratrovo, Como; bb 31/12/35
Black color, brownish head. Although not mentioned on the bottle, this seems to be a cherry stout, as it’s a bit sour; it has a strong roasty character, strong body, moderate sweetness.
Not a big fan of these beers, but it’s good.

11.2 oz. bottle, pours black with a large brown head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, metallic notes, yeast and strange hoppy notes. Flavour is very strange, with lots of stone fruits, metallic notes, fruity hopping, and bready malt. Almost seems a bit funky. Seems a bit off, maybe a bit infected, but quite enjoyable nevertheless.

0,33 bottle courtesy of Bruno, again a bottle consumed in Serbia. Pours clack, tick brownish foamy head with some retention. Nose: it is a melody of spicy notes, all of them recalling Christmas. Genial! Tons of canditi, orange peel, orange chocolate. Peculiar and very rich nose. Mouth: a super rich porter which talks to dryness. Marzapane, pastry, cocoa. Super dry and clean finish. Hands down, a masterpiece. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
