This So-Cal take on a traditional witbier honors Coronado’s main street, which is home to our brewpub and was once lined with orange trees. Bolstered by orange zest, coriander and orange blossom honey, it’s Belgium by way of Coronado. Expect a refreshing, light-bodied brew rife with citrus zing and a hint of earthy spice.

Draft at Redhawk Gastropub. Cloudy orange golden, barely there head. Faint orange peel aroma. The taste is all wheat beer, bready. No other signs of a wit other than the weak orange peel notes.

Cloudy orange with a small not long lasting foamy. Herbal spices, curacao, coriander seeds, orange peel, grainy doughy notes, banana. Dry herbal zesty bitterness, grainy banana sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry zesty grainy bittersweet finish. It’s a good Wit that grew on me.

355ml bottle. Cloudy, amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, wheaty malty and citrusy fruity aroma, hints of orange peel, Triple Sec, a touch of honey. Taste is sweet-ish, wheaty malty and slightly citrusy fruity, minimally spicy, hints of orange peel, Triple Sec, a weak touch of coriander. Minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. A bit unfresh and a tad too sweet due to the honey, not overly spicy- so-so.
