Craft Clerkenwell. Opaque black - brown beer, little tan head. Light dry palate. Rich and unsweet dark malt and chocolate. A little balancing oaky vanilla sweetness on the backend. A whisper of fruits. All right.

On Cask @ Coach and Horses, Dronfield - absolutely certain I’d had this in 2012 already, a classic stout look, jet vlack with a tan head that laces all the way through. The smoothness is there for all to see all the way through the drink, the vanilla notes are there before, during and after with this one... like a black liquid ice-cream. Class in a glass.

Cask at Euston Tap, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Sweet, vanilla, coffee aroma. Tastes similar, vanilla, coffee, hint of chocolate, malty and quite smooth. This stout was a little thin for me but still quite decent.

Cask at The Euston Tap, London. Pours brown with a tighy, creamy tan head. Definite nips of vanilla in the aroma, with subtle milk chocolate. Medium sweet flavor, some roasty cocoa, semi-sweet vanilla, mild burnt wood. Medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Dries out a bit on the finish, with some modest tobacco, bittersweet cocoa, vanilla, mild roast. Lasting roasty bitterness. Nicely integrated vanilla in this one. Very good beer. (3.8)

Cask at CPK, London. Pours brown with a beige foam head. Nice vanilla and charred malt roast aroma with cocoa, too. Medium sweet flavor with lots of dry cocoa, light vanilla and chocolate syrup. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish with light, leafy bitterness, vanilla, earth, dirt and rich cocoa. Very nice. (3.8)
