Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Max & Stas. Black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, a bit of licorice, caramel, nuts, and a smoky hint. Sweetish flavor, with chocolate, nuts, caramel, a bit of dark fruits, mild smokiness, and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. A good one.

Black with short-lived brown head. Pleasant but subtle aroma - chocolate, coffee, dark malt, something medicinal. Medium body, slightly oily with modest bright carbonation. Taste is dominated by dark roast malt, with notes of burnt sugar. There’s some balancing acidity and some softer sweetness in the background. Pleasant but the taste is a bit harsh and lacks complexity.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Opaque black, medium espresso head. The aroma is complex and bizarre, changing with time and temperature. Starts with something roasted and fresh vegetables - pumpkin, carrots, fresh figs. Some smoked wood and malt sweetness too. As the beer warms up, it gets more winy. The taste seems dry and light-bodied, coffee beans, juts a bit of malt sweetness and winy acidity. The finish shift through coffee, ashes and some hop bitterness. Almost flat carbonation and a smooth body. Simple, yet complex... and well done.
