Can from The Beerhive. Hazy ruby body with a medium off-white head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of toffee, stewed tea, fig and dried leaves. Flavour of earth, brown bread and a faint spice. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Sublime.

On handpull at the Lumsden. Pours a deep red brown with a thick fine structured white head that lasts. Orange peel, hazelnuts, blackcurrant, biscuit, toffee, pear, almond, black pepper. Perfect body for the handpull. Probably the best cask conditioned ale I've had in NZ, and would give a lot of the top English options a run for their money too. Sensational.

Can. Light haze on this dark reddish amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is smooth, slightly soft, and has modest fine carbonation. Smooth malts, tangy caramel and toffee, mellow cream. A suggestion of molasses. Ripe orange and tangerine. Tangy generic fruit finish. Mild bitter linger. Rich and tasty. Mild bitter linger.
