Primum is was first brew. We wanted to start with something classically Belgian, that will age gracefully and be a satisfying and celebratory beer. Our take on the classic Belgian Dubbel famously brewed by Trappist Monks, Primum is a dark, strong beer, rich in malt character, balanced by spicy and fruity notes from our yeast.

On tap at Bookshop Alehouse, Southampton. Pours lightly hazed mid brown with a cream head. Aroma: green apples, dark berries, oak. Taste: light sweet, fruitcake, toffee, plums raisins, mellow spices. Medium bodied, soft carb, light spicy yeasty close. Nice

Lovely Dubbel. Woody and apple notes but in a good way. Needed cheese. Shared at Solvay Open Day.
