This spontaneous fermented beer has been aged in Hungarian oak barrels and appears with a light amber color with almost no head.
The aroma is huge and very vinous. A clear impression of oxidized apples is the first thing that hits you, which made us think of heavy old fashioned British apple ciders. The aroma also reveals the wooden notes from the barrels along with some burned toffee and spices like Star anise.
It has a very heavy acidic profile at first, one that quickly slides into a smooth kind of sweetness. We taste green apples, carambola and very young green grapes. It has a certain lactic acidic touch and a creamy dry finish that lasts forever and bares the green impressions through.
Some mild creamy blue cheese on roasted rye bread would work great due to both the lactic and acidity impressions in this beer.

Bottle shared at a Sour/Wild tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. 2014 bottle. Almost clear golden. Very oaky funky aroma with some fruitiness, a bit of vinegar, a vinous note and a biscuity note. Sour flavor with a light sweetish malt touch, a bit of biscuity notes, a bit of vinegar, oak and fruitiness. Medium-bodied. Very good and refreshing.

Bottle as shown thanks to Rainer. Pours a clear orange with small white head that lasts. The aroma is strong rubber, bandaid, funk, and oak. Medium mouthfeel with nice funk, rubber, and nice light sourness. Very good.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a tiny head. Aroma brings out tinny oak notes, acidic and vinegary notes, and light funk. Flavour is quite acidic, with oak and lots of metallic tinny notes. This doesn't have much funk or gueuze authenticity. Very acidic, thin and uncomplex. Not very impressed with this - surprisingly disappointing.

37.5 cl bottle at BierCab. Pours clear to cloudy yellow with a small white head. Earthy, citric and barnyard aroma. Dry earthy to moudy, barnyard and light dry citric. Lingering earthy and dry finish.

Thanks to tderoeck for picking up this one from Hopduvel. 375 ml. bottle sampled @ “Procrastinated Spontaneity /…………/ 2 Boekjes” tasting @ Gent. Clear orange, head is very quickly gone. Smells quite pleasant, nice barnyard funk with orange peel, barnyard with a touch of sweet caramel. Tastes strongly of bitter oak upfront, bitter barnyard leading into sweeter orange peel, caramel, touch lemonade, nice funk, touch hay. Low carbonation & a touch watery. Nowhere near the top & lacking in complexity but very enjoyable to drink never the less, comparable to certain bottles of Girardin Black but with way less complexity.

Leighton 10K tasting at Bruce’s pad. Light haze on this gold beer, small.pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and a little crisp from the fine carbonation. Modest sourness. A lemony winey vibe. Trace of wet wood. Light crisp finish. Nice.
