Pours a semi-clear golden with some white head. Nose is bread malts, hay, honey and herbal notes. Taste is sweetish, there’s malts, honey and hay with herbal and grassy touches. Closes with a sweet, malty finish, has a light yet rich body and average to high carbonation.

Clear golden colour with lasting thin head. Malty taste. Quite flavoursome and decent body for the style.

Herber, mild getreidiger Beginn. Überraschend geringe Süße, spritzig, die Herbe steigt an, erfrischend, milde Bitterkeit. Frisch, rund, problemlos. 7/9/11/9/11/9

Bottle from Rewe in Freising. Pale gold with a tall, foamy head. Clean, bready malt nose with a bit of spicy, lemony hop. Slightly worty. Worty, lemony, simple flavor with light oxidation. Simple and disappointing. Not sure why they added this to the lineup.

Bottle. Clear dark gold sporting a proper white head. Aroma of grains, straw and hints of lemons and vanilla. Taste follows aroma. Low to moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. Balanced, mild and süffig.

Classic Helles—I’m assuming; the brewery’s been around for almost 1,000 years so hard to say they aren’t the benchmark for the style—except it seems a tad sweet, with notes of red apple and vanilla leading to a gentle white bread and floral fade. Canned; my first Weihenstephaner not in a bottle. Woo-hoo.
