Brewed with our friends from Vault City, Louie is an Imperial Chocolate Stout. The grist is comprised of light chocolate malt, chocolate barley, chocolate rye, chocolate wheat and oats for mouthfeel. We also used cacao husks in the mash, cacao nibs and cocoa powder in the copper as well as cacao nibs in the fv. Louie is slick and full of dark chocolate notes. A decadent treat!

Suitable for vegans.

Can. Opaque dark brown beer, tiny pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth dark malts, perhaps a little thin for the abv and style. Good tangy dark chocolate and dark chocolate cake. Turns to fruitier dark chocolate. A very mild bitterness. Smooth finish. Rich and tasty dark chocolate Impy and yet, and yet ..... it doesn’t have that Wander Beyond pizzaz inventiveness that for me, has elevated them recently. So a good Impy for sure could have been brewed by any number of brewers.
