Brewed with our friends from Vault City, Louie is an Imperial Chocolate Stout. The grist is comprised of light chocolate malt, chocolate barley, chocolate rye, chocolate wheat and oats for mouthfeel. We also used cacao husks in the mash, cacao nibs and cocoa powder in the copper as well as cacao nibs in the fv. Louie is slick and full of dark chocolate notes. A decadent treat!

Can shared in London - cheers! Pours deep brown with a fizzy, tan head. Big sweet flavour, with notes of powdered cocoa adjunct, burnt peanuts, alcohol, ashy roast. Full bodied and oily, with fine carbonation. Hot finish, some bitter dark chocolate. Not bad.

Canned 14.08.19. Very safe for a WB stout. Good deal of chocolate, medium smooth, some roast, bir of sweetness.. but a bit disappointing? Needs just more intensity, or thickness, or chocolate. Perfectly drinkable, but no more than that. Ah well.

Can thanks to Billy. It pours opaque jet black with a nice dark tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt upfront, big and sticky, oily, churros with dark chocolate sauce, chocolate cak, bit of spice, sweet milky coffee, dried fruits, eccles cake, plum and figgy pudding. The taste is slick and heavy, bitter - sweet, dark roasted malt, umami, burnt toast upfront, liquorice, charred toast, dark chocolate cake, salty vibes, tangy dried fruits, plum, prune, date, cherry and rocky road with a tangy dried fruit finish. Medium body, fine foamy carbonation and oily mouth feel. Really fills the mouth. Spending a bit of time with it makes me appreciate it more. Not all about sweetness and decadence. Rich and unctuous, but also with a tangy fruit character. Grows on you.

440ml Can - Black in colour. Chocolatey aroma with notes of vanilla. Chocolate, vanilla, coffee and hints of viola can be detected in the taste. Rich but perhaps a bit too much.

Can split at L6, thanks to Dave, 09/10/19. Light black with a decent tan cap. Nose is sweet chocolate, light roast, toffee melt, pinch of spice, brown sugars. Taste comprises chocolate, cake, faint coffee, toasted brown sugars, molasses, light roast. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost. Passable impy stout … a touch sweet and lacked depth for the ABV.

Can shared at columbus tasting 09/10/2019. Many Thanks! A thick dark brown black coloured pour with a stodgy dark tan head. Aroma is big earthy chcocolate, sweaty, dungy, ashy. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, oily cocoa, bitter chcoolate, bitter, cooking chocolate, light tang. Palate is oily, tangy, rounded, moderate carbonation. Bit of a weird one.

440ml can. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, dark malts. Taste is rich with chocolate, with caramel and coffee notes, not as much depth of flavour here compared to previous WB beers but my god the chocolate is delicious and moreish. Medium body - noticeably thinner than previous beers which is a shame. While delicious I can't help but feel this could have been elevated with some fruit addition, what exactly did Vault City bring to this I wonder?
