BB 11/2024, Lot 1070, 330ml steinie bottle bought at the La Cave à Bières d'Etre Gourmet online shop
APPEARANCE: incredibly beautiful copper like color with mahogany hues, good clarity with slowly rising small bubbles; hazy copper, caramel color with the sediment; off-white to slightly dusty head with more big, fluffy bubbles than thin, quite a lasting half a finger big head for a sour beer;
AROMA: wow, rich and complex aroma for dark sour ale clocking just at 6.5% abv; loads of melting caramel and fruit jam, butterscotch, apricot jam on sweet fruit bread, soft and distinctive Alvinne lactic tartness (very gentle) underneath; raisins, apricot yoghurt, bread crust, subtle tannins but no wood/barrel aromas, hints of vanilla and red wine, subtle berry quality, low bread dough notes, hints of grass
TASTE: smooth and soft carbonation, pillowy feel, slick and mildly syrupy mouthfeel, medium body, nice levels of dryness and lactic tartness; perfectly melting flavors of fruity, caramel sweetness and refreshing tart - sour combo; moderate sweetness of melting caramel, toffee, hints of butterscotch, grapes and grape skin, yellow plum, yoghurt, sugared white balsamic vinegar, berry seeds, soft tannins, subtle barrel tones underneath; lingering dryness with yoghurt, toffee and gentle spiciness, mild mineral presence and even hints of smoke, toasted barrel, subtle note of plum brandy aged in wood; no sour harshness at all, slightly mouth watering before dryness kicks in;
OVERALL: this is another stunning beer from Alvinne in my beer book; a lot of richness on the nose and flavor for just 6.5% abv; highly recommended

Bottle from Etre Pours a deep amber color with a hint of garnet and a small bubbly off white head that slowly recedes. Cherry lemon and red wine on the nose. More lemon than cherry in the flavor with hints of earthy funk. Light vinous flavor pretty tasty.

Bottle. Amber pour. Aroma of cherry, red wine, vanilla, vineus oak, raisin and grapes. Taste has strong sour cherry, rich vineus red grape, vanilla, oak tannine, raisin, acidic sourness and tart red berries. Very sour beer, with a lot of fruit flavor and nice wine character. Strong stuff, I like it.
