Can from Bierwinkel Hop, Amersfoort. Lots of coconut in the aroma, with chocolate, roasted malt, toffee, cocoa, touch of rum. Sweet flavour with a moderate roasty bitterness. Body is disappointingly medium. With that out of the way, this is a luscious coconut Stout with a modest bonus of rum.

0.33 l can from the brewery. Shared with little Dina. Jet black, small persistent tan head. First aromatic impressions are licorice, anise and leather. Slowly, rum emerges with a coconut background, giving the gentle woody, spicy, dusty, chocolate and vanilla notes. Alcohol finalizes the aroma, reminiscing rum with a slice of orange. Smooth and heavy body, milk chocolate flavours, rum flavoured chocolate, molasses, chocolate liqueur, vanilla. After a while roasty and burnt note begins to dominate the palate, leading to a dry finish. Warming, soft, moderately lasting finish. Very sophisticated, well balanced imperial stout, probably the best they did so far.

ABV: 8.9%. Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, coconut, light alcohol - sweet alcohol - rum. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, dark malt, chocolate, coconut, caramel, light alcohol - sweet alcohol - rum. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20201003]

Can @ Home. Pours black with small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, coconut, light rum. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, coconut, little chocolate, rum, light alcohol. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, sweet finish with a little warming alcohol. 041020
