For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

Temporary rating. At some point I might re-write this. Tiny hazy golden, frothy white head, slow diss, small lace and trace. Fruity, floral, herbal, biscuits, grapefruit juice, grass, pine, lemon balm, freshly chopped wood, lemon zest, gooseberries, grape skins, Bitter, floral, herbal, biscuits, sweet bread, alcohol, grapefruit juice, pine, grass, resinous wood, caramel, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, orange zest, moist soil, gooseberries, overripe green grapes, round, astringent, tiny boozy, medium to full bodied. Bitter, rinds, peal, zest, grass, pine, soil, res wood, lcohol, sweet bread, biscuits, caramel, This is quite good but could be fresher. Smell was packed with juice hops but taste has faded slightly giving way to sticky sweet malts and alcohol. good but hope to try this really fresh some day. --- Beer merged from original tick of Big A IPA on 11 Dec 2013 at 01:30 - Score: 8

On tap in a flight at Ale Yeah! Pour copper, with a small, tan head. The aroma is molasses, pine sap, oak, and some floral notes. Very sweet and very bitter flavor, but the sweetness is more dominant. Heavy body, sticky and syrupy. Overall, this is a nice, malty IIPA.

Bottle: Pours hazy, light amber with a short,off-white head. Fruit, pine, caramel aroma. Taste is sweet fruit, almost tropical, pine/herb hoppy. Almost sticky, almost a little too boozy.. Toes the line very nicely. Good one.

Tap at GABF 2013. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeasty with some zesty citrus. The flavour is rich liqourice malt and spicy bitter hop. A classic DIPA.

Golden blond with some haze. 2 finger white head. Nose is grapefruit. Taste is citrus and malts. Very thin mouthfeel. Lots of bitterness but a malty finish that’s a turn off
