For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is floral hop, pine and citrus. Thick mouthfeel with a strong bitter hop and citrus with lingering bitter finish. Alcohol present but not overpowering a very good IIPA from Smuttynose.

Poured from a 12oz bottle (Mar ’12 - thanks to Dave L from PA for this one) into a tulip glass to a hazy orange hue with a small white head. Aroma is all about hops, grassy, floral, bitter orange and a mix of citrus fruits. On the palate I get citrus fruits, primarily grapefruit and to a lesser extent a bitter orange flavour. Throw in pine resin, grass and a hint of sweet caramel verging on biscuity sweet malt. Mouthfeel is good, moderate carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel which is great ! Overall - a good DIPA but not a world beater. Have had before on tap and will happily have again, up there, but not going to win the world cup !!!

3/V/2012 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle from De Molen (Bodegraven) @ Klaas' place - bottled: VIII/10 (2012-465) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!
Little cloudy orange beer, very small off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of honey, alcohol, sweet malts, bit dusty, floral. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet honey, lots of it, bit floral, sugary, litlte soapy, nice floral bitterness, lemon zest. Aftertaste: more honey, very bitter, pungent alcohol, sweet fruits (passion fruit & mango), peppery, very bitter dry ending.
Note: consumed fresh, this will probably be great. Too bad De Molen sells IIPA's this old in their shop...

Draft @ Hangar 9. Pours a burnt orange with about a finger of white head. Aroma of citrus and floral hops. Taste is medium bitter and lightly sweet. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, I like this beer...a lot. I would gladly drink this every day.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks zvikar. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of floral hops, slightly stale. Sweetish flavor with a bit of malt, light fruitiness, finishes with lots of bitterness, somewhat spicy and a bit citric. Medium-bodied. Not bad.

Single bottle at Lemon Tree. Poured this into a small goblet, which kicked up a big white head. Beer beneath is bubbly, dark gold in color, and pretty hazy. Sniffing the head offers plenty of pine needle and resin, and light citrus behind it. Not overpowering, though. Taste is the big hop juice we all know and love. This one’s notched "Bottle Conditioned in May ’11," but the hops have lost none of their punch. Perhaps they did blend together and settle a bit in the nose. I’m going to call this one a little too rough. Malts have take over a little further down the road, but I’ve been leaving too many IIPA’s in the cellar past their prime.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of satchboogie. Another fine selection, thanks! Cloudy, bright orange appearance with a big orangish ivory head. Lots of grapefruit and citrus fruits along with a moderate earthy, piney hoppiness in the nose. Big, slightly toasty malty flavor with a moderately bitter, citrusy, piney hoppiness. Pretty good IIPA.

i think i rated this before so i never picked up a bottle at the shop. perhaps it was because the price was to high. well, anyhow, got this at mad mex robinson a couple of days ago. from the start, ooooohhhhh, big bitter commencement of nasty nellie. over the top and down the side fer sure. a little difficukt for me to say i enjoy this beer. just had a avery kaiser and this is more brutal than that. fairly clean smell and it simply looks like pale lager with a little haze. thin head. mouth coating rude finish. yes, over the top and down the hill jack fell down and broke his crown. very little if any co2.
