Wittekerke Wild combines the styles of Witbier and Sour Ale: in a new technique, the microflora of the oak foeders used for Petrus sour ales is harvested and then used in the first fermentation of Wittekerke Wit. The result is a unique balance of wit beer and sour styles. It pours a hazy straw color with a white head. Aromas of tart lemon and citrus with grainy malt, oak, and earth. Taste is similar – moderately tart with green apple, coriander, and some peppery yeast.

Lots of sour lemon here. Hazy yellow pour with decent head and lacing. Very sour at first but mellows out. Some bread yeast. Tap at Whole Foods.

On tap at The Hay Merchant. Pours a hazy yellow gold with medium frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is funk, oak, yeast. Thin mouth, tart, lemon, apple, oak, funky, very nice.
