The intro to our 10th Anniversary rewind - and perhaps one of our most formative brews - is a botanical saison dubbed “of Love & Regret”. The first batch was produced in the small town of Beerzel, Belgium in 2010.
Meant to evoke the delicate aromas of Spring, this beer was a tribute to the changing nature of the seasons, during what was a rather
transformative season in Brian’s own life. This was the first beer we crafted overseas - the experience of which would shape the model we would follow for years to come - eventually leading to the production of Stillwater beers & collaborations in over 30 countries.
Soft malts, herbaceous hops, & fragrant botanicals come together in an elegant ode to the bittersweet passage of time.

Backlog June 2017. Pale golden body under a dense off-white head. Nice and complex aroma, fruity with herbs and spices. Taste is sweet malt, generic fruity, various spices and a floral touch. Both nice and exiting.

2020 can from Holiday Market. Pours a clearish straw gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Belgian esters on the nose with lots of floral aromas: chamomile, lavender and dandelion all present. Very floral but dry on the palate...none of the perfumey, potpourri aromas that overwhelm saisons brewed with flowers here in the US. Drying finish with some light sweetness along with more dried floral flavors, pepper and a light bit of grassiness.

Pour is a hazy blonde with a large white head. Aroma is cereal grain with some honey and herbs. Flavor is sweet and tart at first then comes a minor camomile flower and a clover honey. I did not get any lavender and I don't know what dandelion taste like. Not very saison like but very herbal with a little palate cleansing tartness.

Bottle. Could have sworn I had rated this before. Amber colour, aroma green pesto, bit boozy. Very nice though. Taste is light citrus and pesto. Weird and nice

Bottle. Orange color, cloudy. Orange peels, lemon, flowers, honey and coreander in the aroma. Sweetish flavor with coreander, mint, orange peels, lemon and lavender. Well balanced, in spite of the spices.
