Large white stayed on a deep amber coloured body. Malt, caramel & boozy aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the tongue thinning out to a clean back. Malt, toffee, orange & herbal tastes with a zesty lightly hopped bitter finish. Easy drinker.

Golden color, big frothy head. Grainy orange aroma. Full bodied. Malty falvor with orange. Some caramelly bitterness. Alcohol. This beer is like a French car. It looks good but after a while you notice the weak points.

Mild malziger, leicht oxidierter Beginn. Hefig würzig, weich, trotz der Oxidation ausgewogen und gelungen. Langwer weicher, hefig süßlicher Nachhall. 9/8/9/9/8/9

Clear medium amber colour, two finger frothy white head, dissipates gradually towards sides, good lacing. Aroma fruity, banana, orange, yeast, nutty notes. Taste medium sweet, light bitter, bit metallic. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, mouthfeel somewhat flat, finish is mild bitter, with herbal and earthy notes.

Bottle shared at Kasteelhof with Colin and Bruce - Cassel, France. Bottled as ’Blonde Cuivree’. Pours clear gold with a creamy, off-white head. Huge bready malt aroma and lightly farty. Medium to big sweet flavor with sugary bread, cereal and caramel. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Very sweet to wrap with lots more sugary bread. Meh. Not too drinkable.

Classic bière de garde from the region known as French Flanders. Finely structured, snow white head, orange blonde colour with protein flakes. Aroma of orange, banana, caramel, cinnamon, liqueur, peat and a smoky hint which they claim comes from fermentation. Sweet fruity taste, bit cake-like, drying up in the middle and finishing in herbal hops but also badly hidden, astringent alcohol.

330ml Flasche. --- Beer merged from original tick of Tradition on 09 Apr 2014 at 11:36 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 4 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Bottle at the Kastelhof, Cassel, 22/03/13 - split with Leighton and Bruce, labelled as ’Blonde Cuivree’. Lightly hazed blonde/amber with a thin white head that dissipates edgeward. Nose is pale malt, dark fruit notes, grass, citrus, orange peel, touch of spice, light booze whiff. Taste comprises light toffe tang, spice, dark fruits, over ripe orange, sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sweet notes in a dry finish, Ok I guess - Les ’Whelme’ !!!
